HMS Caroline is a World War 1 Light Battle Cruiser, the last survivor of the Battle of Jutland 1916, and the newest attraction set to open tomorrow in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.
Bespoke Northern Ireland had the chance to tour the Battle Cruiser ahead of it’s opening and we have to admit it was really impressive!
The vessel has undergone a multi-million pound restoration, transforming it from an aged service ship, into a world-class visitor experience hub, with the facilities to hold conferences and events (just what we like to hear!).
There are 3 rooms on board HMS Caroline, each unique with a history of their own: The Drill Hall, the biggest room on the ship which can seat up to 160 people, provides versatility for those larger events; The Ward Room, which has been fully restored to the décor the Ward Officers lived with, and can seat up to 12 people which is perfect for those looking for that unique location for private dining experiences; and finally the Junior Rates Mess which was the life and soul for the crew serving on board HMS Caroline, this room can hold up to 60 people for an exclusive event with a quirky atmosphere.
If you really want the WOW factor why not hire the full ship!? HMS Caroline can be an extraordinarily dramatic venue for a total of 500 people where they can enjoy an event like no other. Guests can have exclusive access around the ship to explore the virtual screens, which provide the whole story of the vessel along with her crew over the last century.
Today the ship has opened exclusively for the Commemoration of the Irish Sailor, to mark the centenary of the Battle of Jutland, and tomorrow it opens to the public! We’re enjoying watching all the activity from our offices at the Science Park, from our window!
If you would like to book your event on board the most exclusive ship, the lone survivor of the Battle of Jutland, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are really excited about this venue and can’t wait to get our clients aboard! We look forward to hearing from you!
