Our Tourism Northern Ireland guests from Dublin had a jam-packed few days with us last week. The range of selected hotels included the quirky 'new kid on the block' The Bulllitt, The Europa, The Fitzwilliam Hotel , The Culloden Estate and Spa, and with special thanks to overnight hosts The Merchant and The Slieve Donard Hotel and Spa.
Everyone was ‘blown away’ (literally, thanks to Storm Doris!) by the breath-taking surroundings at Mount Stewart National Trust property, with an exclusive tour of the Genoa Suite and the ‘Temple of the Winds’, a private and unique spot lending itself perfectly for a Summer drinks reception or incredibly special meeting space.
A cute ferry journey later and we had crossed Strangford Lough and headed South to Castlewellan for the ‘Ales and Trails’ Biking Experience which was a big hit even in the absence of the promised electric bikes!
The next day it was off to another National Trust site, Castle Ward. This wonderful location not only wowed guests with its beauty but is also home to the 'Game of Thrones' Experience. So it was more beer tasting as we tried the specially brewed Winterfell ales as we brandished our swords in our Game of Thrones cloaks!
The trip finished at NI Food Tours, Tracey Jeffrey’s fabulous Irish cottage, where the group enjoyed lunch and demos from a local cheese maker and Dexter beef producer. They left for Dublin with a very special and newly discovered taste of Northern Ireland!
